Everything on this page was shot by us, on our machine. There is no supplier marketing imagery here and there never will be — which is why there is less of it than you will find on other sites in this trade.

The delicacy test

Paper does not survive heat. It survives this.

This is the demonstration worth two minutes of your time, because it answers the question everybody actually has: is this thing going to burn my stuff?

Ink is lifted off a sheet of paper and the paper is not scorched. Paper chars at around 230°C and has no thermal mass to speak of — if the beam were dumping heat into the surface, there would be nothing left. It does not, because the pulse is gone before the heat can move.

A bronze, a hand-hewn beam or an adobe wall is enormously more robust than a sheet of paper.

Result

Cleaned band ends exactly where the pass ended — no feathering, no blending into the surrounding metal. That hard edge is the whole point: the beam removes what it is aimed at and nothing beside it.

Why we insist on a test patch.

These are our own test panels, not client work. They exist because the single biggest variable in this process is not the machine — it is whether the person holding it has found the right settings for your material.

Aircraft aluminium stripped too aggressively. The coating is off, but the edges are torn, primer is smeared into the surface and the substrate has been worked. This is the failure mode people are right to worry about — and it is a settings problem, not a laser problem.

The same alloy, the same machine, dialled in. Paint and primer lift in clean stepped layers, the rivet countersinks are untouched and the aluminium underneath is unmarked. The difference between these two photographs is the test patch.

Corrosion and coating removed along a lap joint. Abrasive blasting rounds rivet heads and smears metal across the seam; ablation leaves the fastener profile and the joint line exactly as found — which is what makes the surface usable for inspection afterwards.
